Come, Connect, and Commit to Christ and His Kingdom Work
What We Believe
We hold in our commitment to the historical Christian orthodoxy as affirmed in widely accepted historical Christian statements of faith. We are a church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. We also affirm the Southern Baptist Faith and Message of 2000.
The Holy Bible is written word of God. It is the essential and infallible record of God's revelation to man as originally given. It is free of error in all it teaches. It is authoritative, providing guidance for all of Christian life, practice, and doctrine.
GOD IS TRIUNE
He is one God who is infinite, eternal, almighty, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. He exists in three co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
GOD THE FATHER
God the Father is the creator of heaven and earth; by His word and for His glory, He freely and supernaturally created the world out of nothing. His is sovereign over all His creation. In His immeasurable grace He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, for mankind's redemption. His intention for all creation, especially man, is to live in fellowship with Him.
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man. He is the only savior from sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He is the head of the body, the church.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world and in his divine mercy makes men aware of their need for Christ and leads them to trust Him. He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment; He is active in our sanctification, provides the believer with a power for godly living, understanding Biblical truth and guidance to live a Christian life.
Man was created by the special act of God, in His own image, He created them male and female. Tempted by Satan, man rebelled against God and is subject to divine judgement. Without the precious work of grace, man is incapable of returning to God. This is what's known as the "depravity of man." This is radical and pervasive; it effects all areas including the mind, will, and affections. Lost, sinful people, are without hope apart from salvation that comes from Christ alone.
It is the Good News of God reconciling sinners to Himself and the work in person of Jesus Christ. He willingly went to die a horrifying death, a death we deserved to die, and offered His life as a substitute sacrifice to God. His death satisfies the demands of a holy God. This reveals His amazing love and grace.
Salvation is a gift from God that involves the redemption of man by grace and received by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Eternal life begins the moment we repent and believe in Christ by faith.
Man is created to exist forever. Man will either exist eternally separated by God from sin or in union with God through Jesus Christ, because of forgiveness and salvation. Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners. All true believers endure to the end. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end. Heaven and hell are literally places of eternal existence.
The church of Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of redeemed humanity and associate by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and believers are members of His body seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The church is who we are. It is a place where Gods people are to be supported, encouraged, and equipped for the gospel ministry. We are to bear witness to the good news of Jesus Christ.
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience for the individual who confesses a belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a public testimony of an inward decision of faith and belief in Christ. Baptism serves as a public and symbolic demonstration symbolizing an individual's identity with Christ. It testifies that the former way of life is being put to death and a person's release from the mastery of sin, the newness of life.
THE LORD'S SUPPER
The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby those who have become followers of Christ, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine. When we partake in the Lord's Supper we do so in an attitude of self examination. We remember the death of Christ and anticipate His return.
EVANGELISM & MISSIONS
It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations who seek constantly to win the lost to Christ.
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the unity of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God's image. The marriage relationship models the way Christ relates to His people, the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord.
